Meet KI's new professors
On Thursday 8 October 2026, 21 new professors are to be inaugurated at Karolinska Institutet in solemn forms in Aula Medica. In addition, we give our new adjunct and visiting professors a warm welcome, and honour recipients of several academic awards. The professors' installation ceremony is one of the highlights of the academic year.

The announcement will be open only for media representatives who have been accredited in advance. Please note that a registration beforehand and valid press credentials (also for accompanying colleagues) are mandatory. In addition to a press ID, you must bring a valid photo ID (driving license, passport or other equivalent). Read more and register by 1 October.

Ahead of the autumn term 2026, KI’s new students were welcomed with a week filled with inspiration, community and engagement. As early as the week before the start of term, new students had the opportunity to get to know both KI and each other through lectures, activities and meetings with different parts of student life.
